Your first cards for $0

The call: You don't need to spend a cent to play.

Registering for a sport on GameDay Squad hands you free Bronze player cards, and Bronze is a full, playable tier. The Starter competition is restricted to Bronze cards only, so your free squad competes against other free squads. Nobody in that room out-spent you.

Rarities and the multiplier

Every player exists in six rarities. The rarity sets a Player Score Multiplier (PSM in the app), which scales the player's real fantasy score:

  1. Bronze: 1.0x (free, unlimited supply)
  2. Silver: 1.1x
  3. Gold: 1.2x
  4. Platinum: 1.3x
  5. Diamond: 1.4x
  6. Legend: 1.5x (the rarest thing in the game)

So a player who scores 100 base points scores 100 on a Bronze card and 150 on a Legend. Higher rarities also cost more of your salary cap and are restricted or required by different competitions, which is how the game keeps tiers fair.

Packs, when you're ready

New cards enter the game through packs: Common, Rare, Unique and Elite, with better odds of high rarities as you go up. A 9-player Common pack costs a few dollars; Elite packs cost serious money and are aimed at coaches who've been in it for a while.

Our honest advice for week one is to open whatever free packs you have (starter packs, promo bonus packs) and stop there. Learn the game in Starter with Bronze cards. The market and the pack store will still be there when you know what you're actually shopping for.
