Privacy
The short version: we collect an email if you hand us one, and a few details if you enter the draw. That is the lot.
Who we are
This site is run by The GameDay Society, based in Queensland, Australia. We handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Your email address, if you join the mailing list. Nothing else: no name, no birthday, no phone number.
- Draw entry details, if you enter the bring-a-mate draw: your name, one way to contact you, your mate's GameDay Squad username, the sport they signed up for, and optionally their name.
- Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider, which include IP addresses. We do not use them to build a profile of you.
We count page views with a privacy-first analytics tool (Vercel Web Analytics) so we know which pages are useful. It uses no cookies, collects no personal profiles, and shows us only aggregate numbers: how many visits a page got and roughly where traffic came from. We cannot see who you are. We run no advertising pixels or third-party trackers, and there is no cookie banner because there are no tracking cookies. The only cookies we set are for keeping the site owner logged in to the admin area.
Why we collect it
- Email: to send you the calls and Society updates. One email a week is the plan, and you can leave any time.
- Draw details: to check entries against GameDay Squad's verified signup records, run the draw, and contact you if you win.
We do not sell your information. We do not add you to anything you did not ask for.
Who else can see it
We use two service providers to run the site: Supabase stores the data and Vercel hosts the site. Both may process data on servers outside Australia.
For draw entries only, we check the GameDay Squad usernames you give us against GameDay Squad's verified signup records. We do not send them your email or your mailing-list details.
Beyond that, nobody. We do not share, rent or sell personal information to anyone.
How long we keep it
Mailing list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Draw entries: we keep records of each draw for five years, because promotion rules require it. After that they go.
Your say over it
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. Ask and we will do it, no interrogation about why. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.
If you think we have mishandled your information, tell us first and we will try to fix it. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
